JOB OVERVIEW
Decadance has a great opportunity for someone studying music and who wants to explore music and radio together with one of our new trainee radio producer positions. We now have a Weekday Evening opportunity for someone to train on the job working with our Specialist Music Artists on their shows. You will help to produce on air and off air content and features. You will also have the chance to work with other trainee producers and the rest of the Decadance support team.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Role
You will report to the Network Programming Manager for all your radio-related work, which will include the overseeing and production of our Future Selection New Music shows. Unlike our other shows, this show will be broadcast from both Bristol & Brighton, and you will work with one presenter in each location across a search for new artists – locally and nationally and the new music that is sent in. There may, from time to time, be other programming-related projects which you could get involved with. Show Research
Working with the on-air talent on the show you’re working on, helping support them with contacting artist, music research, content ideas and production.
Content Editing
Help edit content, on and off air and online, to help grow each show and promote them in the lead up each week.
Content Meetings
Attend and actively take part in new ideas for the show and to run through each show prior to the show start time with the presenter.
Guest Liaison
Contact and book guests and ensure they all looked after and communicated to in the lead up, during and after each interview or slot in-air.
Off-Air Administration
Ensure all relevant admin has been completed as required.
General Marketing
Help with – and pass on – any idea for marketing the radio station and be a brand ambassador.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Past Experience
If you have worked within any music, radio or media capacity (on any level) it is important to detail this in your application so we can highlight your transferrable skills.
Key Skills & Abilities
It is important that you have a competent level of knowledge of all the key social media platforms, so you can help create content. Strong communication skills and a creative flair for ideas and how you will execute them is important for this role. You must also have a solid knowledge of Windows-based systems.
Desirable Skills & Abilities
As desire to strive to be the best at everything you are doing whilst you are learning so you can be promoted into other positions which may become available in the future.
