Decadance UK is a music marketing company with studios and offices in Brighton and Bristol. The company is split across music, radio, events and festivals.
JOB OVERVIEW
Decadance has a great opportunity for someone who loves all things technical and has a passion for music (and radio) to come and work in our Brighton studios. You’ll be looking after our studio facilities, ensuring they are maintained on a regular basis, actioning support request tickets and developing future ideas for tech within the studios.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Role
Whilst you will work alone and manage your workflow, you’ll report to the Creative Director and Operations Manager when it comes to progress and support. Your main focus will be to ensure all repair tickets are prioritised, actioned and replied to. There will also be a need to look at future studio innovations to ensure our facilities stay up to date and industry standard.
Support Tickets
Using the Tech Support ticketing system, you will be responsible for checking, prioritising and actioning the tickets specific to your area and to stay in communication with the person who raised it, closing it down once it’s been completed and the author is happy.
Maintaining Equipment
Periodically checking the studios to make sure that everything is in good working order and fixing anything in the order which is operationally critic to staying on-air.
Future Tech Development
Planning out new additions to the studio or general broadcasting tech to enable us to stay one step ahead of the game and allow us to offer more to the team.
Outside Broadcasts
Working with the programming team in relation to outside broadcasts, you will be part of the planning, advising and completion of the events, including a support team at either end to help you with the overall execution.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Past Experience
A minimum of 12 months experience working around audio tech or in an actual studio environment is essential to be able to work sufficiently well at the level you will be expected to work at and to enable you to hit the ground running with this position, and you’ll need to demonstrate how you have achieved this.
Key Skills & Abilities
A solid knowledge of audio tech including sound equipment and studio related hardware and software is essential to maintain the studios which will house broadcasting equipment for the radio station and audio/visual recording equipment. Understanding how the radio station has been set up is also key to being able to maintain it so being part of that process is desirable. A solid knowledge confident use of PC related It is also essential, even though there will be an IT consultant supporting the team remotely.
Desirable Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of video streaming software to enable video recording within the studios as well as learning the streaming software is important. Having a keen ear for our audio output and to ensure we sound the best we can using tools at your disposal.
