WHAT IS BSS BRIGHTON?
Intro to BSS
Brighton Sound Social was started back in 2018 with the primary aim of supporting the various music communities of Brighton & Hove, bringing everyone together, giving them the ability to get together each month at our face-to-face events and to grow their networks through our digital platforms. In 2020 this was extended with the addition of a brand-new radio show on Decadance, allowing the conversation to keep going during the Covid lockdowns.
BSS Face-to-Face
Up until the start of the 2020 lockdowns BSS events were held monthly at a variety of different locations across Brighton. A mixture of early doors drinks and networking mixed with later panels consisting of monthly discussions, BSS aims to start those important conversations about a range of topics which matter to the Brighton & Hove music communities.
At the events a panel of industry experts delve deeper into the debate, involving members who attended who want to get their points across with a view to improving the music scenes of the city and putting Brighton back on the map when it comes to music and events.
The face-to-face events will continue in 2021 with a fresh new team behind the planning along with fresh new topics to get involved in and a wider network of industry professionals to meet at a new location each month.
Check out event dates, topics and other important information by visiting our Facebook Group and our new look website which launches in late summer 2021.
BSS Online
You can network 24-7 through our Facebook Group which allows members to chat and post content including events, new music, ideas and to continue the conversation from our events. We also have a brand-new BSS website launching later in 2021 which will further support the music industry with more in-depth local music news, events, mental health support and opportunities for anyone who is looking to further their career in whatever section of music they are invested in.
BSS On-Air
The radio show which launched initially to keep the conversation going during the lockdowns will continue in its regular slot on the 1st Sunday of every month between 7-8pm. On this show there will be opinion and debate about topics which are being discussed at the monthly events, as well as a wider opportunity for guests to join us who might not be able to make the face-to-face events.
Download the Decadance Radio App onto your phone, listen to the show on DAB Digital Radio or get locked into the show on your smartspeaker each month. You can also listen via TuneIn or online at decadanceuk.com.
